Employee Spotlight: Katie Zoborowski

Rocket Industrial's Employee Spotlight series highlights a different employee every month, offering an inside look at our company culture and the awesome people who work here.

This month's employee spotlight features Purchasing/Buyer, Katie Zoborowski. Katie has worked at Rocket for 10 years, contributing success to the purchasing department.

Describe your role.

My role in purchasing consists of planning and maintaining inventory at several of Rocket's locations across the United States.

What is something you are proud to have accomplished at Rocket?

I am proud to say I have just started my 10th year with Rocket. I am also proud of having an active role in the interleave production planning for internal production, along with our outside converters.

What are some current packaging trends you are seeing? Anything relating to suppliers, inventory, or the supply chain?

Trends in the last 22 months have been a constant challenge. For example, the supply chain shortages vary from lack of product to lack of drivers for our carriers. The many items presenting challenges in March 2020 are not the same items we struggle with now. Personal protective equipment (PPE) was the first product line that was difficult to stock.

The current product lines presenting challenges include plastic items, such as plastic utensils and strapping coils. Additionally, our manufacturers and carriers are constantly adjusting to staff shortages as we see everywhere.

What do you like to do in your free time?

I enjoy spending time with my husband and our four grandkids. I also enjoy snowshoeing or walking in the snow, especially in the woods. Crocheting, canning, and doing jigsaw puzzles are other activities I enjoy.

A personal best is canning sauerkraut for the first time and then enjoying a bloody mary afterward. Now we wait for the cabbage to ferment and turn into sauerkraut.

Any other fun facts?

My husband and I will be celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary this year! I am also a twin and have three sisters and four brothers.
