Hey Foxconn! Welcome to Wisconsin!

Hey Foxconn! Welcome to Wisconsin!

Foxconn just announced it will be opening a $10 billion plant in our home state, potentially creating over 10,000 new manufacturing jobs and bringing Apple production state-side. Foxconn has been a longtime supplier to Apple and other electronics companies. Establishing a plant in Wisconsin could transform the state's economy.

As a strong supporter of local manufacturers, we welcome you to the great state of Wisconsin Foxconn! We love our state and we are sure you will too. There’s so much more to us besides beer, cheese, and the Packers!

Top 10 Things We Love About Wisconsin (Even though there are hundreds)

1. Supper Clubs

We have the best dining culture in America! There’s just something about an Old Fashioned and a Friday Beer Battered Fish Fry at a local supper club that you won’t find anywhere else. There’s even a guidebook written about it!

2. Wisconsin Music

Ever heard of Summerfest? Eleven days. Eleven stages. Over 900,000 people attend the music festival in Milwaukee every year! Mile of Music in Appleton started in 2013 and has been a rapidly growing event every year. The four day festival features a variety of folk, indie, and blues bands and draws a crowd of almost 50,000! Artists such as Steve Miller and Bon Iver are proud to call Wisconsin their home. Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon even started the two day music festival Eaux Claires in Eau Claire.

3. Fall Colors

We aren’t sure how to explain this one, but fall colors are just better here. You’ll see for yourself. You can take in the beauty of the changing season anywhere from local parks to driving down colorful country roads.

4. Wisconsin Authors

Born in Eau Claire, Nickolas Butler's Shotgun Lovesongs captures the culture and landscape of Wisconsin perfectly as it is based on Butler’s friend and Bon Iver member, Justin Vernon. Another great Wisconsin author Susan Gloss grew up in Green Bay and her book Vintage is set in Madison, where she currently resides. (Bonus: Did you know Stephen King briefly lived in De Pere when he was younger? Black House is a horror novel he wrote with Peter Straub, who is a Wisconsin native. The book is set in a fictional town in Wisconsin… creepy!)

5. The Unexpected Scenic Beauty

A great thing about Wisconsin is it’s not short on breathtaking views. Home to 47 phenomenal state parks that are filled with trails and scenic views, Wisconsin also offers seafaring explorers the opportunity to adventure through Lake Superior’s Apostle Islands sea caves, hit the slopes at Granite Peak in Wausau or just spend a relaxing weekend in Door County watching the sunset.

6. Lambeau Field

Home to the four-time NFL champions, the Green Bay Packers, Lambeau Field is one of the most historic stadiums in the United States. Aside from taking in a game, you can take a behind-the-scenes tour to experience the history first hand, check out the Hall of Fame, buy some green and gold swag at the Pro Shop or experience the newly constructed Titletown District.

7. Brats with Kraut

Sometimes cheese and beer get all the attention that the delicacy of a brat with sauerkraut can be overshadowed. Although, we do advise pairing with some cheese curds and an ice, cold Spotted Cow for the full Wisconsin effect. Even better, put your brat, sauerkraut, and cheese curds on a pizza! Try this recipe for a Tailgater Pizza, we promise you'll thank us.

8. Our State Capital

Madison is an awesome place. Full of parks, vibrant culture, bicycles, and young professionals, it’s not surprising that the city is gaining attention from tech startups. It’s regularly named as one of the best cities to live in and catching a Badger game is something everyone needs to experience.

9. The Dells

Wisconsin Dells has been a favorite family vacation destination for more than 150 years! It’s home to Noah’s Ark, the biggest water park in the country. You’ll also find roller coasters, zip lines, water ski shows, a drive-in movie theater, and festivals. Along with the many golf courses, fishing spots, restaurants, and shops, there’s something for everyone to enjoy here.

10. Awesome Wisconsin Companies

Wisconsin is home to some of the largest and greatest companies like Kohler, Harley Davidson, SC Johnson, Kwik Trip, Trek Bicycles, Johnsonville Sausage, Ashley Furniture, Sargento Cheese, Point Brewery, and New Glarus Brewery (ok, maybe we cheated on promising to not mention beer, but it’s hard not to!). Now we have a new addition to this growing list of companies that reside in the state that we love to call home. Welcome to Wisconsin Foxconn!
